In continuing our celebration of mom's, we've decided to have our first ever contest!! As mommies, we are rarely in the photos. So, you'll want to be sure you are in this picture & layout.

Here's the challenge: Submit a 1-page Layout featuring yourself in the photo. Be sure to use twine or floss on your page! Want to step-it-up another notch? Add any mist/spray to your layout! :) Deadline to submit is Mon. May 21st by 6pm. You can submit in person, by email, by text message or even by facebook!!

Its easy...just send us a picture with your name on the final layout. We will announce the winner Tuesday for a great stash of twine from the Twinery in fun colors and a set of the new mediums to play with from Tattered Angels. Whoot whoot!!! can't get much better than that :)

New SEI line called Mayberry... Doesn't it take you back? I love the southern feel and the rich colors. The embellies are a fun mix of traveling and a 5 & Dime feel. Love the license plates and the trucks :) If you are thinking of making a father's day gift, page or card...this is your line!

Craft Time with the Kids

Today we are busy, busy preparing for our family night at Chick-fil-a on Chapman Hwy. We will be doing the craft time with the children and their parents to encourage family time together. : ) What better way to have family fun than to eat together and craft?!?!! Since the end of the school year is practically here, we are all in need of teacher gifts to show our appreciation. The children will get to make their teachers a cute & fun gift while learning to stamp :)

Join the family fun celebration at Family Night, Chick-fil-a on Chapman in South Knoxville from 5-8pm tonight!! 5/15/12 There will be inflatables for the kiddos to use up some of that energy too!!

Don't forget our Mother & Daughter crop this Saturday, May 19th 11am-11pm. We will be serving Chicken Salad with Croissants and fresh fruit for a late lunch. Use this chance to scrapbook with your daughter or just general crafting. Share your love for the craft and watch them smile from ear-to-ear :) You don't have to have a daughter with you to join us. Its open for all!!
Daughters ages 5-10 can crop with their mommies from 10am-1pm for $5 per mom/daughter. We will have a small flower project for you to work on together too! Older daughters can stay & crop all day for $5 with their mom's paid crop fee of $15. Our older daughters will be able to make the flower make-n-take also but can bring their own projects and crop along side their moms.

In the spirit of family time, please be in prayer for our dear friend, Kim Bloomfield and her son Tyler. You probably remember her from our Design Team in the past or you've probably cropped with her at a crop! She's always so bubbly you can't miss her smile!! Kim lost her husband Sunday night to a long battle of brain cancer. :( We are so deeply saddened for her and admire her strength as a wife & mother & friend. Watch for a fundraising crop to come in the next few weeks to help Kim & Tyler get back on their feet.

If you haven't done it yet today, tell your loved ones you love them and hug them tight!! Make sure to make time for Family Time in your crazy & hectic worlds. Plus, be sure to capture those moments on camera and scrapbook them!! :)

New Goodies

Hey there from the City Chick Mountain Retreat!! We're scrappin' away on our last night :( So sad its almost over!

New goodies in the store:

Action Wobbles. These are the simplest invention but are really cool! They are a spring-style pop dot! So you can pop up any item or embellishment for that added dimension, but then it also wiggles! ...or wobbles, lol. Another feature is it is virtually flat...so that means no extra postage when mailing that fun card!!
Its hard to 'see the wobble' in a photo, but here's one that DT member Jonna made -

Also, we've gotten BoBunny instock in the last week.
Alora has been really popular and we reordered the embellishments too!
Here's a really cool layout made by our rep Sabrina. She even used the Lucky 8 punch to make the circle base :)

ME TIME at the CITY

Ok Mommies let's face it, we need some ME TIME. Between honey do this, mommy can you help me do that, cleaning, washing, and just doing daily errands we are crazy busy. If your house is anything like mine it runs a lot more smoothly when we have time to get away and do something for ourselves, something we enjoy. As for myself my free time is always spent here at the city cropping on a Saturday with my chicks. This Saturday, the 28th we will be having an all day crop. If you have participated in one before you know what a blast we chicks have. If you are a newbie to cropping we do it right. We open our crops at 11am and stay til 11 pm. This Saturday we will be having a pizza buffet for dinner and many giveaways through out the day. The fee is only 15 dollars if you pay by tomorrow and 20 if you pay Saturday.

So if you need some me time come spend Saturday with me and many other City Chicks as we scrap and chat the day away.

A Class filled Saturday

Saturday, April 24th we will be holding 2 different classes offering many new techniques.

The first is listed as, Mother's Day I LOVE YOU and will begin at 11. In this class you will make a chipboard album for the special "mom" in your life. You will learn how to cover a plan piece of chipboard and turn it into beautiful gift. You will also use different stamps, buttons, and ribbon. Let's face it we all know how special these hand made gifts filled with pictures can touch a "mother's" heart.

The second class will begin at 2:00. It is titled Spring Poppy Mini Album. In this class you will use the very popular Authentique line, Gathering. This line flew out the door so if you missed your chance to snatch some, come in and learn how to use that paper to fold it in such a way that creates a unique photo album. This album is filled with tags, pull out pages, and di cut edges. You will also learn to create a flower using ribbon and glubers.

You can find pictures of both classes under the class tab on our website. Click on the individual class to view them. Then, call me to be added to the class list.

Crops and Cameo Silhouette Demo

Hey Chicks,

I hope everyone had a great Easter holiday. I spent the holiday in Charleston, SC with my sweetie and boy oh boy do I have LOTS and LOTS of pictures to scrap. My wonderful parents keep our two very wild and extremely energetic boys while we were gone and took even more pictures then I did. With that said... I have reserved a spot in one of our April crops here at the City! There are two up coming so call and schedule your day to get some "Me" time and scrap all of those "Spring" events. This Saturday, April 14th is not only a crop but we will be offering a Silhouette Cameo Demo at 11:00. If you haven't "heard" all the RAVE about the new electronic cutting tool come SEE it in ACTION!! Then you can put it on your "must" have Mother's Day Gift List :)

We will also have a crop on April 28th starting at 11:00.

Don't forget with our crops if you prepay you will save 5 bucks. Bringing your ALL DAY crafting, eating, and snacking total to only $15.

A Happy April Morning...with OCTOBER AFTERNOON!

It's always nice to come to work at SITC in the morning, but it makes for a crazy fun day when there's a big box of new stuff waiting for me when I get here. It's the best kind of day when that box is from OCTOBER AFTERNOON! Woohoo!! We got in the much anticipated "Sasparilla" line and it is as cute as it looked in all of the previews. It's a Boy/Girl country/cowboy theme line with some adorable embellishments to go with the always wonderful papers that OA sends us. With the great colors and cute star embellishments, much of this line is making it in to my to-scrap bag for baseball pages and general boy pages.

I also had waiting for me a rare-for-us reorder of a line that went so quickly so many of us missed out on it. We have the "Saturdays" line back in from Little Yellow Bicycle, so if you got a little before and need more, come and get it. Or if you missed out completely, here's your chance to grab some of this beautiful "family" line with the denim look. So pretty!

My day just keeps getting better......As I was sitting here typing, the big brown truck pulled up with MORE new stuff! Wowza! These boxes are from JILLIBEAN SOUP and Basically Bare!!! AHHHHH! "Southern Chicken Dumpling" from Jillibean may be the cutest Easter line I've ever seen! Yes, I need it ALL! This giant box from Basically Bare is FULL of chipboard, fabric and felt embellishments in every shape and size you could imagine! I can't wait to start shopping all of this, so I guess I'd better get to work so all of you and I can buy it all! :-D

A bunch of you have been waiting for the new BoBunny line, Alora, and it is finally here! SO cute with flowers, cherries, birds and hearts. This is a precious little girl line, but I even got some for scrapping my boys. The colors are reds, greens, browns, and teal, and a bunch of it is appropriate for boys, too! Woohoo! We have 6x6 pads in it, too, for me and my card-making friends. :)

If you have been as busy as I lately with school, work, practices, ballgames, and all of the other activities with which our time gets consumed, then like me, you've probably had no time for yourself to sit and scrap. So....clear your Saturday and come crop with us! Lou, Jennifer and Tonya will be at the store hosting a 12-hour crop so you can catch up. It's only $15 if you prepay ($20 if you wait till Saturday), and that includes your dinner (Lasagna & salad), snacks & drinks, and a 10% shopping discount for the day. Call me and reserve your spot!

If you have a whole weekend free, there are two spots left for the SDV Scrapbook event this weekend! It will be at the Airport Hilton with our fabulous Sara taking the job as hostess. Check our website for all of the specifics, but I'm sure it will be a complete blast!

We're trying to find a place to put it all... I know, I know...good problems :)

New today is Canvas Corp. Here are some pictures I took at CHA show to give you a taste of some of the new. Easter and St. Patty's papers, Beach & Cruising, Herbs and Coffee and new LOVE papers. There is a mix of fun new canvas and burlap pieces too!
